We came back for second stay, so that says something. It works for us at a large family level. What it needs is some extra attention. In the two weeks between visits the ensuite door remained broken with handle missing. Same with window in the bedroom window. The place needs a deep clean as there is left over building dirt and stuff next to vanity and in most margins. The bedrooms are missing night stand lamps, with front room missing a lamp all together. Street bedroom with loft has loose power points. Our early review said the unit had great potential. It still does… it just needs some attention. Need the owners/managers to treat it as a residence rather than a cash cow room. It would not last a day without complaint if it was subject to residential tribunal rules. We arrived late after a ferry delay. Kids were thrilled to be back and to some place familiar. It is a spacious apartment that we would stay at again. The upside benefits outweigh the downside issues. This was most likely an intercity 3 bedroom apartment converted to hotel inventory. Certainly liveable. Beds are very comfortable and linen is clean and fresh. Supplied continental breakfast was waiting for us on arrival in the fridge, more that enough fro us to eat and enjoy.

We stayed in room 204. Three bedroom apartment. Absolutely brilliant for our needs. Spacious with a really good kitchen. Our rate included free breakfast which was more than adequate for our needs. It had a washer and dryer for clothes which we used and overall the apartment was big enough that we never felt cramped. Brilliant for Kids. Close to the university and basically pretty centrally located. About 10 minutes from the zoo so that was helpful. If you are looking for five star, this is not the place. It is a little bit rough around the edges and has some deferred maintenance. But it’s a quirky inner city apartment in an older converted building. To get to our apartment you do need to climb stairs. Perhaps an old warehouse? So bonus points for reuse of an old building. With a bit of attention It could really knock the socks off of most people. One of the interesting things that we discovered was that the fan switch for the main bathroom was actually located in the ensuite bathroom which was on the other side of the wall. Some of the lightbulbs could be replaced and an extra lamp or two for the bedrooms would be good. Really great sleep. Amazingly comfortable beds.

I’ve stayed at three different rooms at this place so know what to expect. The rooms on the ground level wirh shared bathroom, room ten is way more spacious but can be noisy from the adjacent laundry. Issues with mould and damp in bathroom have now been sorted from a year ago. It is a good price for one night in Wellington if you need to be close to upper Tory and Cuba St. Hot tip: you can park in coupon parks in Mt Vic a ten min walk away between 6pm to 10am. I would recommend this place if you’re looking for somewhere that is a bit nicer than a hostel but it is no longer that original boutique setup it was pre covid

Location, location, location and at a great price. It an old building but this little hotel is in the middle of it all. Stones throw from Cuba and 5 minute walk to the waterfront. We had the van parked right in front of the entrance way but that does cost extra. Rooms are clean and fairly well cared for. Very quite for a city hotel except for when rowdy neighbors come in from a night of partying. Staff are very nice and accommodating.

We had a 3 bedroom studio. It was surprisingly roomy and modern, without feeling too so and everything needed to be comfortable.Great having 2 bathrooms. Nice continental breakfast.loved opening windows, dishwasher, wash machine and dryer. Lots of seating. Very comfy. We appreciate finding a 3 room unit for out family.
